田中功起 | Koki Tanaka
ヴィデオや写真、サイト・スペシフィック・インスタレーション、あるいは介入的なプロジェクトなどの多様な芸術実践のなかで、田中はシンプルな日常的行為のなかに潜む複数のコンテクストを明示しようとする。オブジェクト指向の初期作品では、ありふれた日用品による実験を行い、日常のルーティーンから逃れる可能性を提示する方法を模索していた。のちの作品では、参加者たちに非日常的なタスクを集団的にこなすことを求め、そのありえない状況に直面している人々が無意識に示す振る舞いを記録する。それは、小さな社会や一時的な共同体のなかに生じる、集団の力学を明らかにしようとする試みである。
主な展覧会と映画祭にベルリン国際映画祭（2020年）、ロッテルダム国際映画祭（2019年）、ミュンスター彫刻プロジェクト（2017年）、ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ（2017年）など。
In his diverse artistic practices, including video, photography, site-specific installations, and interventionist projects, Tanaka attempts to articulate the multiple contexts latent in simple everyday acts. In his early object-oriented works, Tanaka experimented with common everyday objects, seeking ways to present the possibility of escaping the routine of everyday life. In his later work, he asks participants to collectively perform extraordinary tasks and records the unconscious behavior of people confronted with these impossible situations. It is an attempt to reveal the collective dynamics that arise in small societies and temporary communities. Major exhibitions and festivals include the Berlin International Film Festival (2020), the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2019), the Sculpture Projects Münster (2017), and the Venice Biennale (2017, 2013).
